Thank you for giving me this chance to introduce myself to you. My name is young-ho. I'm in my mis 20s and I'm single. I live in 경산 city near my university and I have a older sister who is now living in 경주 with my parents. I'm majoring in administration at 영남university. I like movies and hiking. I am a(애)dventurous and have a good sense of humor. maybe that's why I make friends easily. Now I am preparing an English proficiency(프로피션시) test and volunteering at a nursing(널싱) home to be a qualified candidated when I apply for a position at one of the biggest companies in korea.

Q. 2 I'd like to know about your family. How many people are there in you family? who are they? please tell me about your family in as much detail as possible.
There are four members in my family. my father, mother, and a older sister. my father is a public servant and he's been working there for the last 20 years. my mother is a typical housewife she takes care of me and my sister and keeps my house running well. my sister is very passionate and goal-oriented. she's been working for a district public prosecutor's office. she's already got her next 10 years all planned out. We don't see each other often during the week but we always go out for a great family dinner on Sunday and have quality family time together. I'm very close to my family and especially my mom since we have a lot in common.

Q. 3 Please tell me about the last time you had dinner with your family. Where did you have dinner? What did you talk about with you family during the meal?
The last time I had dinner with my family was last Tuesday. It was my father's birthday, so we all got together to have dinner at a restaurant. We went to a steak house because my father likes meat. We also drank wine to celebrate his birthday. At the end, we sang a happy birthday song and gave him our presents. All the family members are busy, so it is really hard for everyone to get together. So it was a very precious time for everyone.

Q. 4 Please tell me about where you live? how many rooms do you have in you house? what things are there in you house? Give me a good description of you house.
I live in a studio by myself. when you walk in ,there is a bathroom on the left and the kitchen is on the right. there is a sliding door that separates the kitchen area from my room. my room is very simply furnished. It only has a bed, a desk, a TV stand and a closet. I have my laptop on my desk with a simple desk lamp. then there's my precious de나. it's the biggest piece of furniture in my room since I spend most of my time studying.

Q. 1 You indicated in the survey that you go to school. where is your school located? what time do you usually go to school? How do you get to school everyday?
The university I go to is located near city hall. It is a bit far from my house and it takes nearly an hour and half to get to school by car. I wake up at 7'clock and leave home at 7:30. Driving during rush hour is terrible, so I always take the subway. I save a lot of time by taking the subway because my school is only 5 minutes away from the subway station. I transfer once at the 반월당 station to a different line. in the subway, I usually read a book or listen to music. The subway is often packed with lots of people in the morning. I usually arrive at school at about 8:30. If I arrive faster, I have breakfast at the school cafeteria before class.

Q. 2 Please tell me about your school. where is it? what does it look like? what is there on the campus? give me as many detail as possible
The school I go to is close to my house. I usually take the subway and it takes about 30minutes. The campus is very wide so it takes a while to walk from the subway station to class. There is a big lake in the center of the campus, and it is surrounded by many trees. It is especially nice to walk around the campus in autumn when the leave turn red and yellow. it is known for its beautiful campus so many people come to enjoy the campus on the weekend.

 

Q. 3 I'd like to know about when you first went to your school what was the first impression of your school? please tell me in as much detail as possible.

Before I came to my university for the first time, I expected to see large and magnificent buildings with green fields. however, the buildings were antiquated and small and there were not many green field, so I was a little disappointed at first. however, the main library in the center of the campus was so huge that I was facinated by its size and the number of books it contained. when I saw a lot of students studying in groups and hanging out around. I realized that I was attending a university now, not a high school any more. it looked very lively to me and made me want to study hard.

 

Q. 4 Please describe you classroom. what does it look like? what can you see inside the classroom? Give me as many detail as you can.

The lecture room I usually take classes in is large sized. there are windows on one whole side of the room. so we have a lot of light during the day. It has 90desks and chairs, and the room is always full with students during class. there is a blackboard in front of the room the screen for the overhead projector on the ceiling and the screen for the overhead projector is above the blackboard. there is a podium in the center of the frontside of the classroom, but my professor hardly stands in front of it.

 

Q. 5 Where is your favorite place at school? what do you usually do there? how often do you go there?

My favorite place on campus is a coffee shop called sky lounge. you can eat or drink and study all at the same time without any regulations like the library. I usually go to sky lounge four times a week to study and to have a coffee with snack during my break. many of my friends like to go to the coffee shop just like me.

 

Q. 6 Please describe your typical day at school. what do you usually to at school?

I leave home at around 8a.m and go to school by walking as soon as I get to school at around 8:20 a.m I get some coffee at the university center located by the center of our campus and have a little chat with my friends. I have a lunch break from noon to 1 P.M and I go to student cafeteria for lunch with my friends.

I don't like to break my routine, so I try my best to keep up with this schedule.

 

Q. 7 What do you usually do after school? do you go to the library or hang around with you friends? please tell me as much as you can.

After class at around 5 P.M I usually go to the library to do homework and write a paper and then go to a language school to take an english class. after that I go back to my home, and I normally get home at about 9 P.M that's my typical day

I am majoring in the study of administration at 영남 university. there are some required courses including 공공관리론, 행정학의 이해. I can learn the principals of administration. I have a lot of home work almost everyday so I spend most of my time studying in the library after class. they aren't easy for me to fully understand but it's definitely interesting

Q. 2 Do you like your major? why did you choose it? please tell me in as much detail as you can
I thoroughly enjoy being the study of administration major, and everything that I have gained in my studies so far. I have always been interested in the study of administration since middle school. with my major I am one step closer to bocoming a professional politician which has been my childhood dream.
 
Q. 3 Please tell me about the courses you're taking these days. how many courses are you taking and what is your favorite course among them?
I signed up for 6 classes this semester, and overall i'm taking 18 credits I'm taking four required courses and two electives related to english. my plate's definitely full however I am pleased to take one of my favorite courses of all time which is english conversation because I can improve my english skills, which is very important in a job market.

Q. 4 Please tell me about your favorite professor. why do you like him or her?
It's really hard for me to choose my favorite professor, but it I must I would say it is professor hwang, my english conversation instructor. he's a great professor, because he is always kind and generous to students, so all the students including me feel comfortable to practice speaking english in the class. I've learned a lot through the class and gained confidence in speaking english.

Q. 5 I'd like to know something memorable that happened to you in class what happened? why was it memorable? give me the full story in detail.
I was taking one of my mandatory courses, the study of administration last semester. one day I had a question in the middle of the class, so I raised my hand and asked the professor the question. at first I was afraid that he wouldn't be happy with the interrruption. but surprisingly he praised me for asking the question. he even told the rest of the class that I was a very creative and smart student. I was blushing because of the unexpected praise from the professor, but I felt so good and my heart was beating so fast. after that day I studied harder for the class and I ended up getting and A. that's why It was so memorable to me.

Q. 6 I'd like to know about the project that you most recently completed what was it? what did you do for the project? how was the result of the project? what did you learn in the process of carrying out the project?
I was given a project in my economics class a month ago. the project was to analyze the stock market in korea and we were divided into a group of five when the project was assigned to us, I thought it would'nt be too difficult for me because I was familiar with the topic however the project wasn't as easy as I thought we did our best to do well on the project and it turned out that we got an A for the project. I realized the importance of the cooperative spirit.

Q. 1 You indicated in the survey that you like to go to concerts. Can you tell me about one of you memorable experiences at a concert?
When I was 15 years old, I went to see Eric Clapton in concert. He was my favorite singer at the time, so my parents bought the ticket for my birthday. He is a famous rock singer from Britain and he plays the guitar very well. During one of his songs, everyone held up lighters and moved their hands back and forth slowly. The entire theater had hundreds of little lights moving back and forth, together. Clapton was singing a sad song about the death of his young son. It was a very moving moment I almost cried. That moment made me realize that wa are all connected in the world. We all have the same desires, hopes and sorrow.

I like classical and dance music. I usually listen to classical music when I study or when I want to feel at ease. classical music doesn't have any lyrics, so it doesn't distract me. I also listen to classical music when I go to bed especially when I have a rough day on the other hand when I feel excited or when I want to get in high spirits I listen to dance music. also when I go jogging, dance music helps me enjoy running more.

Q. 2 I'd like to know about the musicians you like choose two musicians you like and tell me the differences between them.
There are a few korean pop musicians I like. two of them have very distinctive characteristics. they are 효리 리 and 리나 박 whose korean name is 정현 박 I think 효리 리 is more popular among children, teenagers and young people. she dances and sings well. but she is more famous for her glamorous body and style. in contrast 리나 박 is popular and famous among people in their 20s or older she prefers sining at concerts over TV shows 리나 박 is famous for her singing style and gesture

Q. 1 You indicated in the survey that you keep a pet. tell me all about your pet. what kind of pet is it? what does it look like? give me as many details as possible.
I have a small poodle named cookie at home. my father brought her home when she was only 10days old. I named her cookie because her for color is chocolate just like chocolate cookies. she just turned 3years old. she used to be so quite and shy when she was a baby but now she's busy sniffing around wherever she goes. I love cookie dearly and I think she loves me more than anyone else.

Q. 2 What do you have to do for your pet every day, every month, or every year?
First of all, I have to make sure to feed cookie on time every day. I also take her for a walk every evening. I bathe her once a week. once a month I take her to the vet for a haircut. every 3 or 4months. I take her for a health check-up.

Q. 3 There may be some merits and demerits of keeping a pet. pick one merit and a demerit to talk about in detail.
The best thing about having a pet is that you have a great companion. because I can tell her anything and trust that she will never tell anyone. however, everyone in my family including myself is busy during the day so feeding her on time could be bit of a hassle sometime. also when I want to go out of town for the weekend, it's hard to find a trustworthy dog sitter. it may be hard to take care of her but I would never give cookie up for anything in this world.

Q. 1 Can you tell me about the movie theater you often go to? where is it? why do you often go there rather than to other theaters?
I frequently go to 롯데시네마. it's very close to my apartment. aside from being conveniently located near my apartment, this theater has many great features. 롯데시네마 is equipped with state of the art sound system for all their screens. also this theater is able to show movies in 3-D. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I visit this place.

Q. 2 You indicated in the survey that you go to the movies. What kind of movies do you like? Do you like action or comedy movies? Please tell me about the genre you like to see in detail.
I like almost all kinds of movies, but my favorite movies are doomsday movies. They usually are science-fiction type movies where civilization has ended and the hero has to survive on his own. Many of these movies are also cult movies, like Dawn of the Dead or Planet of the Apes. I like these types of movies because I am interested in how the characters try to solve their problems. The storyline of the movies often makes my hand sweat. Also, these movies usually have great special effects! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who also likes these movies, so I usually go to the movie theater by myself to watch them.

Q. 3 Describe a movie you've seen that really inspired you. how did the movie affect you>
I've watched many movies in my day however no movie left as deep and everlasting impression as the film "in to the wild" This film was based on a true story. the main character was played by an up-and coming actor name emile hirsch. the story was about a young man who recently graduated from a very prestigious university and instead of following everyone to get a meaningless job he decided to take a journey on his own to find himself. his story has taught me to live my like the way I want and never be incacerated by what other individuals might think about what's best for you.

So I was told that you enjoy watching movies. out of all the geres, what type of movie catches you eye the most? do you have a specific director you admire the most? Who's your favorite actor/actress and why did you start following her/him?

Q. 1 Can you describe one of the biggest parks in you city? what does it look like? what do people usually do there? tell me about the park in as much detail as possible.
There is park in the middle of my district, called 황성park. A small stream with a trail is connected to the park, so there are many people jogging or riding bikes. there is gazebo and usually people sit there and rest. you can look down at the park from the gazebo. the square is surrounded by hills and some people go up the hill to enjoy the view of the park.

Q. 2 When was the last time you went to a park? which park did you go to and who did you go with? what did you do there? give me the full story of what you did from the moment you arrived at the park till you left.
I went to the park about two weeks ago with my friends, and two of them brought their bikes. one of my friends and I went to ride the bike at the square. all of us unpacked out lunch. we ate our lunch and snack and chatted for two hours. after lunch, we just walked around the park and took pictures.

Q. 3 Please choose two national parks you know and describe how different the are from each other. also i'd like you to tell me which park you prefer to go to
There are Two national parks that I know in korea. one is 설악 mountain national park and the other is 경주 national park. first 설악 mountain park is located in 강원provinces. the park is famous for its landscape. on the other hand, 경주 national park is in 경상남도. there are many historical sites including famous kings' tombs from 신라 dynasty. usually people go there to visit history museums or see historical sites. personally I prefer 경주 national park because I like histrorical things.

Q. 1 You indicated in the survey that you watch sports games. what kinds of games do you usually watch? when and where do you watch and tell me about what you did before and after watching the game.
I love watching all types of sporting events, but nothing neats watching major league baseball on a big screen TV. but these days I frequently this sports bar by my campus to catch all the big games. I love going to this place to watch my games to relax after a busy day at school. I usually go back to my place when i'm done with the game. it's pretty late when I finish the game and I have to make sure to be prepared for my classes the next day.

Q. 2 Have you ever had any problems or difficulties while watching sports games> what were they? how did you solve them? give me the story in detail.
I rarely have any problem watching my sporting events. I do come across a few difficulties here and there when there's a blackout. when my team plays low market teams, many stations tend to not broadcast the game. this is very frustrating. I found out that I was able to subscribe to a private baseball network on the internet.

Q. 3 Can you tell me about the first time you watched a sports game? what kind of game was it? how did you feel about your first experience of watching the game?
I remember going to a baseball game in 잠실 when I was 7 years old. it was game between 삼성 라이온즈 and 엘쥐트윈스. the baseball game was very exciting. I felt like I was walking on cloud 9. I will never forget that experience. I became a fan of baseball.

Q. 1 You indicated that you play games. what kinds of games do you like to play? why do you like playing the game?
I love to play all types of games such as board games, video games. I grew up playing video games ever since I was a little boy. I love playing FiFA because soccer is one of my favorite sports of all time. also this game has incredible graphic. even though the stadium look like the real deal.

Q. 2 When you play games, who do you usually play with? how many hours do you spend playing games a week?
I guess I can say that I roughly play about 10 hours per week. I normally play the game with my roommate 일규. but when he's not home. I play with my neighbor 경윤. although I try to limit myself to playing an hours or two hours every day, I sometime forget the time and play past midnight.

Q. 3 Can you tell me about the last game that you played? when was it? who did you play with? did you win? tell me about it in detail.
The last time I played this game was a few days ago against my roomate 일규. 일규 never says no to playing Fifa against me. it was one of the most intense and pierce gaming experiences I have ever encountered. the score was very close. it was neck - and neck however 일규 ended up beating me 2-1. not only had I lost, I also owed him a pizza for dinner according to our pre-game wager.

 

2-8. 조깅하기

Q, 1 How often do you go jogging? when and where do you usually jog? do you usually go jogging alone?
I go jogging on the weekends during the day usually. on weekends I leave home for jogging around noon and I run for 30minutes. there is a small stream that has a jogging and bike trail and I usually run along the stream. I prefer running by myself. It makes me feel more comfortable.

Q. 2 Why do you like jogging? how did you first become interested in jogging?
Two years ago, two of my friends asked me to go running with them. I joined them every Saturday morning and it was fun. even though I ran for only 30minutes a week, I could see some changes in myself. first I felt happier than before and I was in a better shape. so now I run three times a week and for more than 40 minutes.

Q. 3 What are some good things about jogging? and what do you have to consider when you go jogging? what can you do to avoid an injury?
First jogging helps you be more confident. next running is good for you heart and lungs. lastly if you are on a diet running helps you burn fat and be in good shape. however you must stretch before you run to avoid injuries also you should consider the weather, too before you run.

Q. 1 Where do you like to travel in you country? why do you like going there? what do you usually pack for you trip?
I usually take a weekend trip to the east coast because it's clean and has some of the best seafood. I also enjoy visiting the ocean side during winter. i'm able to escape from the busy city life through beautiful views of the ocean. I try to pack very light since my trips are only a day or two as long as I have a change of clothes, toiletries and a camera in my backpack, i'm good to go

Q. 2 Can you describe one of you favorite trips? when and where did you go? who did you go with? why was the trip so memorable? tell me in as much detail as you can.
The most memorable trip I took was to 경주 city in north 경상 province. I went on this trip at the end of last summer with my friend. this historic city is filled with many tourist attractions such as 불국사 temple, 석굴암. I was in awe seeing all the incredible pieces of history with my own two eyes. I would highly recommend for everyone to take a trip to 경주

Q. 1 Can you tell me about the food in you country? what is the staple food? what do people usually eat?
I personally think korean cuisine is one of the finest cuisines in the world. koreans eat rice as a staple food. of course you cannot forget 김치. we have different types of 김치 depending on which province you live in and what the season is. for an ordinary meal, korean usually have rice, soup and 김치 with a couple more side dishes. my favorite soup is called 미역국 which is sea mustard soup. as side dishes you can have meat fish or vegetables usually stir fried, steamed or grilled.

Q. 2 Can you recommend one of the most famous foods in your country? what kind of food is it? what is it made of? where can I taste it?
Let me tell you about 떡볶이. 떡볶이 is made with rice cake, vegetable, fish balls cooked in korean red pepper paste. my favorite 떡볶이 is the seafood one with cheese on top. 떡볶이 is one of the most popular street foods in korea. so it is really easy to find a snack stand that serves 떡볶이.

Q. 3 What did you have for breakfast today? where and when did you have breakfast? please give me as many details as possible.
I had the usual korean-style breakfast at home at 7A.M. this morning I had rice, 닭계장, 부추전, and 부로콜리. 닭계장 is a spicy chicken soup with lots of different vegetable. 부추전 is a korean - style pancake with leeks. I really don't like eating vegetables but my mother makes me eat 브로콜리 every morning.

Q. 4 You indicated in the survey that you like cooking. Please tell me about the kind of food you like to cook and explain how you make it.
I guess you can say that I like to experiment. Although I mainly cook Korean dishes, my girl friend loves my spaghetti. my mother gave me her special spaghetti sauce recipe when I was little. It's easy to cook and delicious. Some of the basic ingredients you need are some ground beef bell peppers, onion and some minced garlic. Start cooking the ground beef in a pot with some butter and then add the onions and other vegetables. when the vegetables are cooked, add 2 cans of tomato sauce and a little bit of tomato paste. You can throw in any of your favorite veggies of seafood. Let the sauce simmer for a while and you're done
